The first line in a series of nine AUS. Severus never joined the Death Eaters because he loved his girlfriend, Andromeda, who would never have tolerated that. Lily named him a potential guardian as well, and both James and Lily give their blessing in a letter for Severus and Andromeda to adopt their son, Harold James Potter. This is the story of his childhood.
