The Newhart finale is perhaps the most highly rated sitcom finale of all time. I decided to incorporate that idea to the end of HIMYM after 52-year old Ted flashes the blue French horn to 50-year old Robin. It is pro-McCosby.
Imagine Charlie and Grandpa Joe did not belch their way down and did end up getting shredded by the ceiling fans. Here's how I think the Ooompa Loompa song would go.
Ted and Robin are engaged, so Marshall and Barney throw a bachelor party for him...and the hilarity ensues.
Ted and Robin return to New York after their honeymoon in London. They face their worst nightmare. Lily and Marshall have invited the newlyweds for their first couples night in years (8 years for Ted and 16 years for Robin).
After her dad, Barnabus, dies, Cinder-Ellie lives with her cruel stepmom Robina and her two equally mean nieces. An appropriate number of years later, King Theordurus and Queen Tracina (she's alive and well throughout the story) arrange a ball for their son, Luc, so that he can find a potential bride. Will Cinder-Ellie make it to the ball on time to meet Prince Luc?
Taking the advice of a reviewer, I'm writing a second version of this story. Instead of telling the kids the story in the 2030s, Ted in 2006 tells Marshall, Lily, Barney, and Robin the story of how he met Robin Sparkles as a teenager in 1993, during a trip to Toronto. Ted is telling the story immediately after the events of the "Slap Bet" episode.
This story is not meant to slander Simon Cowell. His blunt critiques are hilarious; I'd like him to critique my singing to see where I could improve. Anyway, Robin auditions for American Idol and meets Simon Cowell. During the entire audition, she never realizes that Simon is Alan Thicke's doppelganger and keeps calling him Alan Thicke.
Ted and his family take a trip to Toronto in 1993. While at a restaurant, Ted hears "Let Go To The Mall" and falls in love with the song and the singer. (He later sees the video) He finds out that Robin is performing in Toronto and is determined to see her in concert.
Marshall, Barney, and Ted continue their tradition of watching the original 3 Star Wars movies from where we left off in 2015. The final scene will be in 2030 or 2033. Since 24 is divisible by 3 and the tradition started in 2000, there will be scenes in 2024 (Tracy's year of death). Pre-2024 scenes will be canon to what happened in the series. NB Post-2024 is gonna be pro-Mobatsky.
Penny and her boyfriend go to Ted and Robin's 10th anniversary dinner party with a big surprise...they're engaged! Ted and Robin arrange a wedding in France, the way Ted and Tracy originally planned to marry. The entire gang goes to France for the big event. At the hotel, they are confronted with an unexpected visitor...Tracy! Her ghost has come for the wedding.
In the summer of 2030, Robin takes an emergency trip to Vancouver to say goodbye to her father before he passes away. Ted follows not long after to keep her company. As Robin exchanges last words with her dad, she reflects on her friendship with Ted since 2024 and realizes it may be so much more. She confronts Ted and they end up in one of their worst fights ever.
It's no exactly a Story, but it is a big timeline of what happens after Ted and Robin's relationship revival
