When Ahsoka Tano is assigned as Anakin Skywalker's new Padawan, he is more than just reluctant to take her – he doesn't want an apprentice, period. And not because a 'Padawan would slow him down'. The real reason is because of the little, Force-sensitive, blue-eyed girl he met two months before.
