Motonari prepares to march upon Osaka Castle and betray his allies when Mitsunari and Yoshitsugu arrive to question him. During their battle, the sea sweeps Motonari and Mitsunari away. They must find their way back to familiar territory while fending off supernatural creatures. With no one else coming to their aid except a white wolf, Motonari must learn to trust his enemy.
The past shapes the person of the present, and family and friends have their place. Follow Mitsunari's story from his beginnings as a wide-eyed child and his maturation into an Ishida warrior who commands the fearsome powers of his clan, serving the Toyotomi with wholehearted and unquestioning loyalty. Some time after their first adventure, Motonari finds a lost puppy. Eager to reunite the puppy with its mother, Motonari and Mitsunari follow Shiranui's trail into more supernatural strife.
