A new face in Rigbarth resurfaces memories for Doug and Margaret, some happy and others painful. Cross posted from AO3.
Two girls on the run from their crazy uncle roll into town. Soon after their arrival, Frey's memories slowly start to come back to her, but the stress is too much. Her relationship is strained, but the closer she gets with the sisters, the closer she feels to discovering her past. Chapters bounce between Doug, the sisters, Frey, and the mysterious Captain Lest.
This is the story of someone who was hurt finding comfort and learning how to move on. Through life, there are always moments when you want to shut yourself out from the world to keep from being hurt, but we all have to learn how to get along with our lives. In order to heal, you have to let yourself love, and be loved in return. "Hurt so bad, more than I expected that it would."
When we were still just children and so innocent and small, those are the times I think about when it snows. We used to do everything together, but now we've drifted apart. Sometimes, I think it's for the best, but you're my best friend. It's not the same when we're not spending every moment of the day together. Just a short little story about May and Stu. Full of fluff, I guess.
