Long ago, a great power walked upon the land. A being with the power to create objects from memory using mana. This being was called the Forger. During the war against Malefor, the power was sealed away and lost for many years. But now the power has begun to awake and called its new master into the old world. Schildland, a small nation in a continent far to the north of the Dragon Realms. Dragons, mainly civilians and children fleeing Malefor's armies, came here to seek peace, but found a land at war. As the final battle wound down with Spyro and Cynder victorious, this war was also drawing to a close. No one could foresee the events that would come after the final battle had ended.

Two years have passed since the defeat of Malefor. Spyro and Cynder now live in peace in the realms as a new era of peace has begun. However, far across the ocean, war looms and begins to spill over into the now peaceful lands. When a powerful warrior washes up on the shore with no memory of who he is, it falls to Spyro and Cynder to help him stop the evil threatening their home.
