  • The Truth of How I Feel

An experiment. I have thought endlessly about how Patrick Jane's feelings must have changed over the course of the series. I'd love to explore it in depth, but who has the time? Would I be able to capture those moments where something changed, though? One by one, like jewels in a necklace? We shall see. If you like drabbles, tell me what you think.

  • The Illusion of Control

Backstory scenes set during Violets. Based on Patrick Jane's assertion "...the key to a good con is always making the mark feel like he is in control. I mean, you can lead a man anywhere as long as he thinks that he is driving." Exploring how this principle affects members of the team. Now slightly AU.

  • Did I Mess Up?

A tribute to the fallen. Her death's impact on the team may take up as many as 5 more short chapters. Tissues strongly advised. Rest in Peace, Agent Michelle Vega.

  • Galatea

A tribute in celebration of the Mentalist series finale, dedicated to my own dear husband to whom I was married 19 years ago this month. From Lisbon's point of view, but in the author's voice.

  • Need Not to Know

Set during Brown Eyed Girls, some backstory scenes and cannon subtext to explore denial and how it affects relationships in the Mentalist. Even the smartest man in the room can't solve a problem if he refuses to look at it honestly.

  • Predictable?

"I love that you're predictable." But of course, we love the Mentalist in part because it is unpredictable. I plan to post here some implausible, unlikely, and unusual possibilities based on the previews and hints that CBS and the Mentalist let slip. Latest installment: "Repercussions"

  • Strength Made Perfect

I changed the name and added on, but it's still a tag to the Graybar Hotel.

  • For Obvious Reasons

This song wove itself into my brain. Sorry I have no way to convey the tune. Based on Blue Birds.
