I'd be in class, barely paying attention to the drone of the Professor when I'd hear it. Often it'd be a mere whisper, naught but a lick in my ear. But then there were times when it was a scream. It would drown out the world around me with its ear piercing cry.
He sneered down at her, "You disgust me. Everything has been handed to you on a silver spoon your whole life, yet you seem to not want any of it. Don't you see how fortunate you are? How you have everything? To throw it away without thought is disgraceful!"
I'd wake up in the middle of the night with the memory of his taunts and I swear I could smell rotting flesh. I didn't want this. I never wanted it. I don't even remember how it began, all I knew was I wanted it to end, because while it may not faze him, it ate away in my mind.
