Set in 1984: After a disastrous mission, Starscream is kidnapped and feared killed aboard a Russian-controlled submarine during the time of the Soviet Union. The Decepticons are devastated and must cope with the aftermath. However, as time goes on, clues lead Megatron and Soundwave to a much deeper plot involving a multi-country conspiracy.

Shockwave really wants to get elected into the Society of Galaxy Leadership and takes nearly the entire Decepticon faction with him to the group's convention. Side story: Ravage and Laserbeak butt helms while holding down the Decepticon Underwater Base. Prequel to "I Need a Hero" and "If Only You Knew."
