Ernesto and Héctor leave for their tour around Mexico. Ernesto knows that this'll be their only shot at fame, and to him that's all that matters. Héctor is just happy to play his music and be with Ernesto. But a little into the tour, Héctor starts to feel homesick. Ernesto knows that he can't let Héctor leave, not when Héctor has all the talent needed to make this plan a success.

The last thing Imelda wants to do is think of Héctor. Why think of someone who causes so much pain and hurt? But you can't control your dreams. So that's where Héctor's memory shows up in Imelda's mind the most.

By beating Ernesto up, Imelda didn't just scar him physically. She'd created emotional gashes in his heart as well that caused him to despise everything and everyone around him... including his best friend.

Coco has a question about Ernesto that no one in her family will answer. Imelda, Oscar, and Felipe all turn her down. So she goes to someone else for help instead and gets more of an answer than she knows what to do with, sending her mind reeling and opening a wider space in her heart than she already has for her second best friend.
