Emma is a producer for a TV show called Wake Up Storybrooke. She is a perfectionist in every way and seeks those same qualities in her partner. She doesn't have much time for love since the show has been getting low ratings and she needs to find a way to bring them up. Killian Jones comes into her life with a segment called the Ugly Truth and makes her rethink her life plans.
Killian Jones is ex-special forces Navy and a fire fighter in a company in the city. One night after a particularly bad day he meets a bail bonds person named Emma Swan who awakens something in his heart that he hasn't felt possibly ever. The unlikely pair just might be the kindling that ignites the flames within each other's heart that had been dulled for years.
Emma Swan is coming home from University for the holidays to visit with her family and help in the Blue Bird Cafe. She's almost finished school and trying to decide what the next chapter in her life will be. The same could be said for Killian Jones whose just finished university and off to help his family with the opening of the new cafe in a little town called Storybrooke.
