For as long as Hiccup could remember, he's been seeking somewhere or someone to belong to. When he and Toothless are captured by the Dragon Thief, he thought he could finally get answers from the person he's always dreamed of knowing. However, it becomes painfully obvious that his life will never be easy, and not even his dreams can survive reality's cruelty.

Stoick greatly loved his wife, Valka, and their son, Hiccup, and would lay down his life for them. But, he never would he have imagined Valka had a greater love for dragons and would choose them not only over him, but also Hiccup. How could a man like him ever process such a notion? Or explain to his son who never knew her? Meeting her again, though, dragged those emotions back up.
