Tory Nichols gives birth at home in Lawrence, Kansas. She is attended by three young midwives, who are only a few years older than her. They assist Tory through a difficult and painful birth that turns out to be successful in the end.

She is currently married to a young man named Amadeus Feng, and ends up giving birth at her vacation home in Lawrence, Kansas, during a vacation.
