This is based upon the parable of the Good Samaritan. It is 1944. When Lilla, a Hungarian Jew, and her family are arrested and shipped off to Auschwitz she believes things couldn't possibly get any worse. Yet, when she performs an act of kindness for the last man on Earth she thought she would, SS officer Rupert Heim, the two of them slowly discover the transforming power of love.
This a Christian poem I wrote about the suffering that men and boys experience. I wrote this NOT TO MINIMIZE what women have been through, but simply to raise awareness that men suffer with many of the same issues and it deserves to be acknowledged. Hope you like it. :)
