AU: No curse; Emma is raised by her loving parents until she's ten when they are killed. King George takes back his throne and becomes Emma's guardian. He married her off to a Prince Hans when she was sixteen. Emma's husband is cruel and controlling and she suffers his wrath frequently because she's unable to produce an heir for him. She is accidentally rescued by a pirate captain.
