Kiara met Aloy when they were eight and six years old, they fell into the Ruins in Mother's Embrace together after crashing into one another. They both found Focus's and were able to connect them so they could contact one another. They were fast friends and stayed in touch after departing. After her parent's deaths, Kiara went to live with her great aunt, Teersa, in the Embrace.
