Set in 1930, Elizabeth Thornton returns to Hope Valley with her teenage son Jack, for the first time since she left for Hamilton 10 years prior to take care of her ailing parents. She has returned to teach and to build a home on the land her late husband bought for them. Still single, will she have another chance at love with another person just returning to their beloved town?

Beginning the day of the S8 finale, this is a fanfic primarily about Nathan Grant moving on from Elizabeth Thornton. The central characters are Nathan and Allie Grant, with many beloved characters from the first 8 seasons of WCTH, and a few new characters entering Hope Valley as well.

This is a One-Shot Nathan and Elizabeth story beginning 3 weeks after the hug at the end of S7. It was written for a fanfic contest with the prompt: After the season 7 hug heard all around the world, Elizabeth accepts Nathan's dinner invite. How would Nathan plan a first date with Elizabeth?
