"Still Water Runs Deep" companion series. Giyuu assumes responsibilities at the Tomioka family infirmary from time to time. Is he a doctor? No he is not. Do people find him odd and off-putting? Occasionally. Do they often ask for his wife, the actual doctor? Yes, they do. But Giyuu perseveres. Spoilers for manga. General lighthearted fluff and humor (most of the time anyway).
"Is everything all right, Tomioka-san?" Shinobu asked, feeling equal parts disturbed and annoyed. "Are you hurt…perhaps something relating to a blow to the head?" Giyuu gave her a sidelong look, the smile curving slightly higher. "No Kochou, I'm not injured." "Then what brings you to the Butterfly Mansion? And what on earth are you smiling about?"
Sanemi had no real idea what it would be like to try to get along with Tomioka Giyuu, because he'd spent the entire time he was a Hashira relishing his dislike for the man. But Giyuu was one of the few people who had fought the same battles, lost the same people. And he, most importantly, was one of a very short list of people left who shared the same curse. Spoilers.
Shinjurou lost his way on the Hashira path the moment that they placed Kyojurou in his arms for the first time – the complexity of emotion he felt had stunned and overwhelmed him. A love unlike anything he ever experienced flared through him, but it was tempered with a terrible dread as he looked at the flame tipped hair that already crowned his newborn son's head. Spoilers.
Manga SPOILERS. Story begins after the events of the Manga. Giyuu-centric. "You never cease to surprise me, Giyuu," she muses. "Just when I think I have you figured out, I turn another page and there is more. Were you always like this?" "No," he murmurs. "And yes. I built up too many walls trying to control my grief and my guilt. Tanjiro and his sister. They were the beginning."
Dumbledore's story doesn't end with his death. He will have a chance to ask the question that has burdened him for most of his life, when he finally sees his sister. But she is not the only one waiting with answers to his questions.
"Their mortal lives were still intact despite all of the danger that I had put them in, but the life that they were starting to build between them had been destroyed. I was holding half of that wreckage in my arms, and suddenly the weight of her seemed like more than I could bear." An in-between scene during The Deathly Hallows between Harry and Hermione.
