And after reading endless tales of villains and heroes fighting it out, after pronouncing themselves 'heroes' at the age of eleven years old, after seventeen years of doing the right thing simply because it was the right thing to do, they realized that maybe, just maybe, the world wasn't nearly as black and white as it had appeared. Lily Evans had known all her life that she was a hero, not a villain. James Potter and his cronies were the villains, and the Slytherins, and of course dark wizards. But then sixth year came along, and everything that could go wrong did, and she couldn't help but realize that "the right thing to do" wasn't nearly as obvious as she'd thought.
In which it's approaching Christmas at Hogwarts, the time of year when miracles happen, and three do. (Based on The Life and Times by Jewels5: I loved it and couldn't stand not knowing what happened to the main characters, so I made an ending for myself, and thought maybe someone else would like to see it, too.
