Originally written and posted to the Bloody Jack boards over Halloween 2011. This story stars one of Jackaroe's supporting cast, a schoolgirl by the name of Elspeth, first introduced in the 4th book: In the Belly of the Bloodhound. It also references several other characters first introduced in The Curse of the Blue Tattoo. And references another author's character, 'cuz why not?

The Bloody Jack Adventures are set during the Napoleonic Wars, when Jane Austen was first publishing her books and making her splash in the world of fiction. A comment thread on the Bloody Jack Message boards, in which L.A. Meyer confessed to not being a particular fan of the works (or at least, the movies based on said works) inspired this mini fic, as Jacky adds her two cents.
