Emiko Saito is a third-year at Karasuno and manages the volleyball club with her best friend. As her third year progresses, she watches the boys around her grow as a team and as individuals. But as the team grows, so does this feeling between her and a very refreshing setter.

Kuroo Tetsuro, Kozume Kenma, and Inoue Akihiko have been best friends since the beginning of middle school, when Akihiko moved into the house between Kuroo and Kenma's with his father after the divorce of his parents. When Akihiko's twin sister moves back in with their father at the start of their third year, Kuroo sets out convincing her that he can be the perfect boyfriend.
