Eggman's intention is known so well.. Defeat Sonic, and establish the Eggman Empire. His so determined to achieve this goal he experiments with new weapons and technology, not heeding the consequences they would have. Until one such time that the consequence of a new, semi-successful weapon puts the entire future at risk, his Eggman Empire in danger.
