Kate Medeiros is a nursing student from New England who fell on hard times. She thinks there is no end to her suffering, until she gets the break she was looking for- signing on to be the new Oncology nurse at Princeton-Plainsboro. Under the tutelage of James Wilson, she realizes her dream, and they learn lessons beyond the scope of the care they provide each day.
