He realized then that in the end he really could be a cloud after all, just like he had always wanted. Because as long as he had her, the wind, to keep blowing him along, his well-renowned laziness became nothing.
And she felt the wall that she had built to keep her emotions at bay beginning to crack, as if it were a weakened dam being threatened by an impending storm. She felt as if the water had already begun to sweep over her, filling her lungs and keeping her from breathing. She couldn't focus; she couldn't get him off her mind.
So he decided that he was going to keep quiet and just watch it happen, because he knew that one way or another, it would. There was no way it wouldn't – Temari had found her match, and he knew that inside her she still knew it, whether she was aware of it yet or not. He knew that meant that she would never let it slide.
