The Year is 2011 and Kuebito Hikigaya, a Engineer/Scientist in NERV's Nioi Sakuhin, Gets a call from his sons school, reminding of his sons' "concerning" ideas. Meanwhile, he meets his old student(and his son's teacher) Shizuka Hiratsuka. Together, they re-live their memories, while Hachiman Hikigaya tries to (forcefully) get adapted into Society.
