In the earliest week of November, year of two-thousand and six, within the Kanto region of Japan, the lives of three people begin to crossway: an innocent young woman; a normal (by most person's standards) young male; and a strange, intemperate young female.

Kohaku, Light, and Sakae are friends, a well known fact to their classmates, the school faculty, and their individual families. A notebook of death couldn't possibly ruin their bond, right?
