The second book on Hawai'i's Wizarding Academy, this is the story of Hale Ho'okalakupua 'O Pu'u Moaulanui's current Headmaster; Alarin Ka'liati. Having grown up on Maui as the child of the then-Headmistress, Alarin tells the story of his upbringing during the wizarding school's budding years.

A wizarding academy exists within the now state of Hawai'i whose origins began with a wizard named Zechariah Avery in the mid 1700s as he arrived on the ship captained by one James Cook. Sensing a source of untapped magical energies within the primitive lands, Zechariah remained behind to discover the source.
