Once, they had dreamed of a future together, and then it had all unravelled. Until seven years later, she receives a strange text from him. Hunger-games-type war between Vera and Anna, for the soul of John Bates. Inspired by the song "The reason is you" by Hoobastank.

Mostly epistolary fic, revisiting Bates's time in prison. Will be compliant to S2-3 storyline, except for one detail you'll soon learn about. Title may change, if I find a better one... Prologue for this story can be found in "The golden locks of Anna"
