Richelieu sends the Red Guard to kill Aramis for his indiscretion. Luckily they don't succeed. The musketeers find a healer living on the edge of the woods to help him. Little do they know, the healer is not human and they get pulled into the devil's dealings.

Athos thought that leaving Paris, he was leaving all heartache behind, but he is reminded that happiness never lasts long for him, when his family is once again struck by tragedy. Now struggling not to fall back into old habits, he returns to Paris, where even more misadventures await him.

Now a Musketeer, Athos should be content. He has friends, support of a man he respects and a purpose, but it appears it is not enough. Struggling with his guilt from perceived past crimes and misdemeanours, haunted by feelings for the woman he loves and hates in equal measure - Athos considers putting his ghosts to rest, when once again, his past steps in to stop him.
I like unusual pairings. That being said...Anne/Treville. Takes place during S3. With all the Musketeers gone away Anne comes to rely on Treville more than ever, and slowly she realizes he's not just her confidant and protector anymore.
S3E1 Rewrite. War is coming, can Athos, Porthos, and d'Artagnan convince Aramis he needs to return? Takes place a few months after the ending of season 2. No time jumping here! Spoiler alerts!
The young Comte de la Fére is reluctant to return home to another engineered meal, with his intended and her father. When he attempts to delay the inevitable by visiting the local tavern, he finds far more than he expected. Anne de Breuil, simply wants to lay low, but the sight of a handsome stranger, awakens thoughts she thought she no longer possessed.
Constance finds Aramis while out on a midnight walk, and realizes that the reasons for his sleepless nights are not always as pleasant as she and others have thought.

Until one summer's night, the estate gamekeeper, offers a curious Athos some words of advice - that both puzzle and inspire. Will those words one day help identify the woman of his dreams, or will they return and haunt him forever?
The Musketeers often end up in danger (just a perk of the job) but they always manage to save each other, sometimes with a little help from a cloak (or two).
