What if Lisbon was depressed? Poem rated for suicidal ideation
One decision changes the lens through which all the decisions that follow are considered. AU. Spoilers through early Season 5.
It had been a week since she last saw Jane. When she sees him again, he's in bad shape.
He laid on his couch. The couch from the old days at the CBI...He closed his eyes and swallowed hard because he slowly realized what this was all about...What remains when you go? What vanishes if you stay?...This one shot is set in 6x22 "Blue Bird" after Jane finds out that Lisbon really wants to move to Washington.
"I think everyone deserves a second chance. Not a fifth or a fourth or even a third, but just one more shot at making things right. And I guess I'm sorta hoping she's yours." — or, if Jane hadn't lost his entire family to Red John.
Jane is desperate... he doesn't want to lose Lisbon but she's moving to D.C. with Pike. Lisbon is tired of Jane's games and lies and just wants to move on. Jane gets one last shot at winning Lisbon, but he must find a way to break through all her barriers and get her to trust him for them to have a future together.
Lisbon has just learned that Jane slept with Lorelei Martins and she is devastated. The revelation forces her to confront her feelings and come to some decisions. Fairly dark heading straight to an M. Still in progress so your reviews are much appreciated
"Sometimes I wish I did hate you." "Why?" Jane breathed, almost as quiet as Lisbon. "It would be easier to accept the way you treat me if I didn't care about you at all." Lisbon may have forgiven Jane for his six-month jaunt in Vegas, but that doesn't mean he's completely off the hook. How did our dynamic duo manage to move past Jane's betrayal? Tag to The Crimson Hat
The Crimson Hat AU - What if Jane did actually crack up and it wasn't all a ploy to catch RJ? Six months after he left the CBI, Lisbon goes in search for her missing consultant and is horrified about the state she finds him in. It is going to take some convincing for him to accept help which not only takes its toll on him but her also. This is going to be a momentous challenge.
Jane has to face his fear.
He exhaled. "You don't think I mean it, do you? That I want to marry you." -Alas, what Lisbon might have thought about Jane's proposal if things had been different. Angsty, but it ends on a hopeful note.
What if Jane had to see Lisbon one last time?
My entry for this month's Paint it Red contest. The challenge's prompt was: Time was never on my side. Story: How a simple airplane flight can end up in everyone's worst nightmare. An explosion, a dead pilot and two CBI-agents are stuck in the middle of the desert with one very badly injured consultant. Lisbon and Cho are the only ones who can keep Jane alive when time runs out.
Missing scenes from Blue Bird, so spoilers for that. How Jane gets from denial to hotel reservations.
SPOILER ALERT! Tag to a scene in 702 "Graybar Hotel." If you don't want to be spoiled, don't read until after CBS airs it Sunday. Jane on his couch while Lisbon is in prison. One-shot. Angst. Disclaimer: I own nothing about The Mentalist.
One shot sequel to Say Something: Jane is forced to go to California to go see Lisbon and Alex, spending time with them makes him think about his choices and the baby steps he is taking to move on. Jisbon
A disturbing case forces Jane to examine his future and his plans for himself and Lisbon.

This is for the Paint it Red monthly challenge ' silence'. Jane returns to Sacramento. (one shot)
One Shot Prologue: Lisbon is at the airport and reflects on how she got to this place once again, waiting to see if Jane will come and stop her plane once more.
Jane and Lisbon are taking a trip, when Lisbon runs into Pike by chance at the airport. The conversation they needed to have.
What if the sunset beach scene in Fire & Brimstone 6x06 had happened just slightly differently? If there had been no trick? It doesn't change what happened afterwards. But it changes who Jane and Lisbon are to one another. Short one-shot. AU. Disclaimer: I own nothing about The Mentalist.
Her thoughts, her feelings, her emotions and the only luxury Teresa Lisbon allowed herself. My apologies for the crappy summary. Something I whipped up during an angsty moment watching THE MENTALIST.
"He was drunk, as always, but she never imagined what would happen next. Little Teresa Lisbon. A gun pointed to her head. Her father pulling the trigger." Teresa Lisbon's past and what led her to become who she is. Also an insight into Patrick Jane's tragedy and how these events make them grow closer. Please read and don't forget to review! C:
Cours, Teresa, cours.
Jane and Lisbon are finally Jisbon. There's a copycat killer on the loose and Jane is still keeping secrets. Will this one destroy their love before it can fully start?
Glancing over his shoulder, he saw a dark shadow fall over her features as she watched him walk away. It was a look of resignation and it filled him with a hot rush of fear. - Post-post Blue Bird.
A moment where Jane's thoughts gets the better of him. Set towards the end of the Red John period.
Tag to 6x08, Red John's demise (so spoilers, lots of spoilers, for anyone left out there who hasn't yet seen the episode!). My thoughts on what may have driven Patrick in those last few minutes in the park.
And the sky blue envelope smelling of cinnamon and sage is the symbol of her burning insanity for a woman, who is halfway across the world and on her own. TL/KF
