The war is won, the Ring destroyed: Aragorn still can't quite believe it. There's plenty that needs doing in the aftermath, but there's also time for a small break in the company of a friend. (I'm considering this a sequel to On a Field of Red, but they're not connected beside Halbarad being alive. Also, this is a LOTRO canon fic (...besides Halbarad) so there are some spoilers.)
Braigiar really isn't suited to rescuing people, it would seem. He got Dagoras out easily enough, but now the three of them are stuck on a cliff side with prowling wolves below. Thanks, Amarion.
The Lone Lands: broad, flat, miles in every direction that are beginning to fill with enemies. Its protector: a single Ranger (So what if the whole lone-Ranger gig had been meant to be a temporary thing? So what if he's pretty sure the folks up at Esteldin have all but forgotten him? So what if Saeradan keeps giving him wary looks and begging him to be careful? Candaith's got this.
very nice

A brief look at one of the many who fought in the War of the Ring.
[elfka, Golodir]
She tries to picture putting emotions as complex as love into a lifespan as short as those of the Edain, and fails. How it is possible, to make do with only a blink of an eye, a fleeting moment? Does it make men feel differently, she wonders, does it make emotions more intense? Does it make loss more staggering, like a bleeding wound to the heart? [elven protagonist, Golodir]
The War of the Ring is over. A one shot speculating about coming home and scars that won't quite heal.
Czasami król Elendil nadal siaduje nad jeziorem sam.
[Rozmyślania Gwindeth o Annúminas, Calengladzie i królu Elendilu.]
He forgot what everyone knows: that water does not have a heart. But she has memories, and every wave that moves the lake echoes within her. [Gwindeth's musings on Annúminas, Calenglad and king Elendil.]
"Sometimes king Elendil still sits by the lake alone. But more often he walks along the shore with the Blue Lady. He tells her of his city, the beautiful Annúminas, and of his people, the Dúnedain. He tells her of his doubts and troubles, and fears. And the Blue Lady listens patiently, and offers advice when she can, and kindness when she cannot give advice."
This is just a wip! We shall see what happens with it!
