Minister Riddle's plans of world domination had gone quite well up to this point, then another Dark Lord, Gellert Grindelward shows up and Voldemort's plans are in ruin. The wizarding world is in panic, not knowing what to do. He knows exactly what to do... get Harry Potter, who'd been renounced as a pathetic "Squib", currently living with Muggles and the only one to rival Gellert.
