Alex came everyday that summer, rain or shine. Horace should've found it odd or annoying, the invasion of his space, the way she just granted herself permission to be everywhere, but he didn't. The junkyard seemed more alive with her here; it certainly wasn't quiet anymore. Even though she didn't know he was there, it made him feel like she was there just to spend time with him.
