Jealousy

For several thousand years, the Doctor has loved his Box. But just because Time Lords don't have a concept of sexual attraction doesn't mean the TARDIS doesn't get jealous when the Doctor forms a close bond with his companions! Possible Whoffle, but it doesn't have to be seen in that way. The Doctor is not human, after all.
