Albus Dumbledore comes up with a novel way of dealing with those who come barging into the Harry Potter universe with the intention of changing things. They really should have been careful what they wished for, especially the older ones.

The "ignorance" regarding muggle dress was mostly a sham. There was another reason that wizards, especially those from the older generations went out in such unusual attire when they were amongst muggles.

The name Harry was James' second choice. His first choice was the last name of another famous Harry. Sometimes it seems as if Harry Potter lives up to that name, even if he can't get himself out of a straightjacket without a wand.
