Bruce Wayne's parents were shot and killed when he was eight years old, but his sister, Adeline, was under the care of Alfred Pennyworth at the time, sparing her the sight of the murder. Years later, Bruce is now Batman, and his sister, while mainly a renowned physician, does take time to play into her alter-ego of Vertigo, Batman's crime-fighting compatriot.

An out-of-town hired gun enters Gotham City in search of his quarry. After years of hunting and killing, he is slowly getting tired of it all, especially due to his new infatuation with a cop he interacts with before he was sent off to prison. After getting out on bail, he continues his previous line of work, but is constantly being distracted by the thought of this woman.

A Ukrainian Ironbelly dragon, newly born with human memories and thoughts of a past life, has lived with its parents in the mountains outside of the town of Osmoloda, a town which was in Ukraine.
