A drabble/series of prompts/plot bunnies that have been requested by readers or just popped up in my head.
Modern AU: Carson is enjoying life as a successful hotelier in Yorkshire, when he is troubled to learn that a new bed and breakfast has opened up in town, operated by Ms. Hughes and Mrs. Patmore. Carson and Hughes become instant business rivals. But unbeknownst to them, they have been anonymous penpals for years. When the truth comes out, how will they respond?
I didn't get my fill of love between Charles and Elsie in the film, so I took the liberty of writing it. Pure Chelsie Rated T
"Elsie," Charles didn't want to push these boundaries. Going from the status of formerly engaged to good friends did make things tricky, "I really have no desire to put you in an awkward position. But I was wondering if you might be willing to consider the possibility of––" [Of a happy life together, the three of them, as it was meant to be.]
Two years ago, John left Downton Abbey with his wife, Vera. Now he has returned, anxious to see the love of his life, Anna and anxious to see if she still loves him as much as he loves her. Season 2 canon divergent story. John/Anna
After Anna's attack in Season 4 Episode 3, Mrs. Hughes convinces Anna to allow Dr. Clarkson to come check on her. From there the secret she is determined to keep becomes known to those who wish for justice. They say all is fair in love and war, but isn't really fair in love and justice? M-rating for violence and rape mentions, lemons later on.
After the winning game of cricket the Downton team is celebrating the victory, but Charles feels like he wants to go to his room and rest, little does he know, that Elsie has slightly other plans for this evening... Warning: Definitely M rated story, with a lot of sex.
A Season 7 project. This story takes up Downton Abbey where Julian Fellowes left it, beginning midway through 1926. This is a serious attempt at a "real" season, embracing all the major characters, and most minor ones, and major/minor plotlines for each of them. There will be 10 episodes plus a Christmas Special. Rated T for allusions to mature subject matter.
A series of scenes written from (mostly) other characters (both OC and Downton characters) showing their views on Thomas and Richard and their relationship. Set amongst my other fics 'Days Of Summer' and 'Dark Clouds And Silver Linings'
The Carsons are coming back to Downton from their honeymoon and Charles's welcoming words are not very flattering to Elsie. Will he be able to justify himself, when she will inquire why exactly he used those words in front of everyone?
Elsie is trying to gain Charles's attention, the night before he goes to France, but he is so preoccupied with other things, that he barely notices her. Fortunately she has a secret weapon ;-)
Sometimes, love finds us in the most unexpected of ways. Sometimes, it catches us off guard and you fight against what was there and when you finally accept it, everything falls into place. Anna/Mary over the decades. AU Canon
Sharing A Bed; a celebration story for the Carsons' wedding anniversary on May 16th. RATED-M for a reason! Also, this is my first M-rated fanfic ever, so don't judge me too much ;-)
Elsie is musing about two sides of her husband- the formal one from the Abbey and the private one-just for her...
Thomas Barrow/Matthew Crawley War takes you far away, war changes you, war you carry with you - but isn't everything fair in love and war? At least that is what Matthew Crawley convinces himself, or tries to, as he hides in a dugout with Thomas Barrow. A footman seen as vile but seen as something else in Matthew's eyes. (currently updating and fixing all the chapters)
This story may contain SPOILERS. Don't read it if you haven't seen the movie yet and you don't want spoilers. After Charles returns from France, he experiences Elsie's jealousy. Will he be able to convince her that she has nothing to worry about?
It's a new era and things are changing, despite Carson's protests. **Contains spoilers from the new movie.
This story was prompted by an article I read that had a lot of spoilers for the 2nd Downton Abbey movie so...this summary isn't going to have much in it other than to say...don't read it if you don't want to be spoiled about Charles and Elsie.
There are moments between them. Beautiful little glances, softly spoken sentiments, an ever-present fondness that slips past the rest of their world, unnoticed. Yet, whether that fondness is noticed or not, it always remains. (Oneshots, ficlets –– this will be a journey alongside Chelsie throughout the show).
The story of Elsie Hughes and Charles Carson in short chapters, from 1912 to their honeymoon (at least). Rated T for safety
Let's reverse pre marital doubts concerning physical attractiveness and make Charles the one who had them, instead of Elsie. This should be fun (hopefully).
Who killed Mr. Green? Concerned for Anna's welfare and exasperated by Scotland Yard, Mrs. Carson decides to make her own inquiries. This is set sometime in Season 6 and assumes there has been at least one wedding at Downton Abbey. Parallel to the pursuit of the killer, a little Mr. and Mrs. Carson romance unfolds as well. Finished, at long last.
AU: A twist of fate has left Elsie Hughes in turmoil. She now follows Charles Carson into retirement to run an inn, not as his wife - but as his colleague. The road not traveled by the butler and housekeeper of Downton Abbey. T to M.
Story summary: An unexpected event causes a secret pact between Charles and Elsie, but few years later, one of them is on the brink of breaking the pact. This story is inspired by events from the series, but as always, it is done my way. Meaning-my own, extended version of it.
What if Elsie Hughes and Charles Carson had been secretly married from the start? How much would change?
A one-shot story inspired by the Tumblr ship drabble challenge. Just a few years prior, his wife had had the same worries, and now a conversation between Mrs. Patmore and Mrs. Carson about the "bed business" causes some embarrassment for our beloved Charlie. But luckily, it all turns out alright in the end...Right? Rated T just to be safe ;)
A one-shot story inspired by the Tumblr ship drabble challenge. Originally a short little drabble that turned out to be much more in the end! Story is set in the first few hours of 1926, just where they left us at the end of season 6. Mr. Carson is feeling down after the news of his retirement and is very much in need of a hug from his wife...
Charles can't take the sexual tension between him and Elsie and he decides to release it in the quiet of his own pantry, but he doesn't know, that Elsie will help him with that.
Elsie is a divorced psychologist, who lives in London and Charles is a widowed headmaster. They are meeting by accident, which will soon turn out to be the happiest accident of their lives and by the way, they will discover something amazing about their past...
This is gonna be a series of prompt fills with 500 words or less for the March Flash Fiction event by Kedreeva on Tumblr. I'll probably hit all of the characters at some point but my main focus will be on Mr. Carson and Mrs. Hughes.
